Worklog: Here

He's been in the news more than most modders recently most notably for working in cooperation with NZXT on their new Phantom case. He's no stranger to modding either though with Hutch and Rogue already under his belt and OSIDIAS also received a good thrashing out phase in our modding forum - yep if you didn't know already, you can post your project first in our modding section using a planning prefix to bash some ideas around before you actually start your thread in the project log section. You can see OSIDIAS' planning log here

OSIDIAS is a project of many stages, the first being to create a brace for the metal sheets to be bent around to create the shape of the case.

Precision was important with the aluminium sheets as they would provide a base for the top layer of the shell which would be carbon fibre. On the right we can see the carbon fibre having been shaped to the aluminium and then prized off.

Other parts of the case received similar treatment. Here we can see one of the side panels being made, this time in red carbon fibre. Trimming the sections proved to be very time consuming due to the strength of the fibres with cutting wheels and sandpaper needed to create a smooth finish. It sounds a lot trickier than acrylic.

Here's a more recent shot of the main shell of the case in black carbon fibre and as if we needed any further teasing with this promising project, craigbru has made a render of what the project might look like once finished. We don't know about you but our subscribed projects list is getting rather full!

That's all for this month, we wish all of our contenders the very best of luck!
